Letter D of the Alphabet of Heat
This is possibly Florida’s most famous pepper…and I’ve never had it. I also had no idea on the proper pronunciation, which is a common occurrence on my YouTube channel. This pepper has a great flavor and does not let you down on the heat! Grew some 6 year old seeds and excited to share the pepper with you all! Check the video for the full review.

Species: Capsicum Chinense
Origin: Chile/Spain – St Augustine, FL
Heat: 200,000 – 300,000 SHU
Plant Size: 2-5+ feet tall, bushy. Grows best in warm, humid climates
Fruit: Straight fruit that range from 2-5 inches long, ripen to a bright orange
tasting notes:
Very tangy and sweet, citrus flavors as soon as you bite in. Juicy and crunchy with a heat that shows up pretty quickly. Excellent flavors for pickling or using in salsa/hot sauce. Pungent but not long burning.
